Back in 2014, we created a vibrant 2D animation promotional video for the 7th AnimaSyros International Animation Festival, held on the beautiful island of Syros, Greece, from October 2–5.

The video celebrates the whirlwind that is the creative process—where raw ideas collide with determination and a generous dose of caffeine! A notebook and seemingly random thoughts, a pair of glasses, the flash from a camera all fly before our eyes as the animation builds momentum toward the ultimate goal: a short movie that’s undeniably popcorn-worthy.

The visuals are clean and playful, leveraging flat 2D illustrations with a minimalist aesthetic. Bold, warm colors, subtle geometric designs, and clever motion graphics capture the excitement and chaos of creativity. The journey from messy sketches on a notebook to polished animation on a laptop mirrors the dedication of artists everywhere. The popcorn motif is a nod to the celebratory payoff—stories made for the big screen, and the audience they delight.

This project was a delight to bring to life, paying homage to the artistry and passion at the heart of animation.
